Brunico – the heart of the Val Pusteria- Pustertal Valley

With a population of about 17.000, Brunico, the fifth largest town in South Tyrol, is a popular tourist destination, located in close proximity to the world- famous Dolomites. The town lies at the conjunction of the Val Badia – Gadertal Valley to the west and the Valle Aurina- Ahrntal to the north. The roots of the town can be traced back to the 13th century when prince-bishop Bruno von Fuerstenberg first issued a deed in 1256; and because of its ideal location Bruneck quickly became the main trading area for the entire Val Pusteria – Pustertal Valley.  The town center consists of many historical buildings that have since been restored and renovated in the last few years. Often times you find classic buildings with modern interiors. Historically Brunico has become the heart of the Val Pusteria – Pustertal Valley and is the door to the Dolomites.

The cultural landmark of Brunico is the castle that lies on the hill Schlossberg. It is one of the more popular destination in South Tyrol and part of many hiking trails in the region. The accessibility of Brunico is also excellent as one can easily travel by car or train to Austria, Germany or Switzerland.

Val Pustertia – Pustertal can also be explored hiking and biking because many of the surrounded towns are connected by walking trails and bike-paths. The Plan de Corones lies at an elevation of approx. 2275 meters and is the most northern summit of the Prags Dolomites that extend along the Val Pusteria, Val Badia and Val di Ladro. There are countless spectacular views over the different valleys and even in the summer one can see snowy peaks of the surrounding glaciers. A visit in this beautiful spot on the earth underlines the quality of life.

Vipiteno – Italy Most Beautiful Small City

The first settlements around the area of Vipiteno can be traced back to prehistoric times and the name can be traced back to the 1200’s. According to legend, the founder of Vipiteno is engraved in the city’s crest. Thanks to the geographically optimal position and the closeness to the Brennero-Pass, the city quickly developed into thriving trade and industrial spot with a high emphasis on transit.

Today, the population of Vipiteno is almost at 7.000

Along with the historical buildings like the city hall, the theatre or the churches, Vipiteno is viewed by many as one of the most beautiful small cities in Italy.
